GX Technology : Anthill Meeting Notes - March 2, 2010

Purpose of meeting:

  • Set timelines
  • Determine how much the build team can provide


Constraints:

  • Initial launch of tools April 28
  • Earlier launch required for UAT
  • Earlier in April will need to deploy to Vegas DC for fanmail launch/testing
  • April 7th or earlier – Anthill build script work is done, everything required for April 28 launch confirmed working.


Notes:

  • Server is built: MS03
  • Initial UAT will be used with test data on test server in Kelowna
  • Dev is occurring on separate Dev servers (not in production). Tested and then branches are moved into Production.
  • We need deployment – same as team.clubpenguin.com
  • We have Ant script in progress, need to create automated build/deployment scripts.
  • Nightly build vs. on demand? >> Use on demand for now.
  • No problems/concerns with publishing/compiling with MS 03.
  • Database is reaching capacity in sandbox. Chris to send helpdesk request for additional space.
  • Need to determine if flex client and php server should run on same machine or separate. Should not be a problem to keep on same instance.
  • Keith not here next week, but can spend much of his time on this in the short term.


Actions Items:

  1. Herman to create list of requirements to deploy on build server
  2. Joe/Keith: setup build server
  3. Joe: Need to replicate server access the current team has (TSS). Need to ask Disney – at least 1 week notice. For the web boxes, not the databases. Need to setup dual access/firewall holes.
  4. Chris to send Joe a list of services that need to talk to each other product (i.e. ToonTown).
  5. Joe to talk to TSS early about the services from other DOS products that need to talk to these boxes and vice versa (i.e. DISL).
  6. Joe/Gillian – is there a database setup for new customer service tools?
  7. Michael to follow up March 22nd to confirm everything is progressing appropriately (in addition to daily scrum updates).
  8. Watch item: There is an outstanding server request for new customer service tools . who do we talk to for new boxes for web servers: talk to Joe. Need to request a VM to get started. Needs to be in place by early april, make request in mid-march. Takes very little time to setup a VM.


Build script action items:

  1. Keith – review team project
  2. Keith – review existing customer service tools files
  3. Keith & Herman to work together to review setup and next steps; there are 2 parts that would need scripts: server side and flex
  4. Keith & Herman to build the scripts
  5. Keith & Herman to deploy to build server
